Master Tony Wei
was born in Beijing in 1921. His Chinese name is Wei, Kuang-Tao As a youth, master Wei studied in the fabled Song-Shan Shaolin Temple in the Hunan Province. While at the temple, and in the many years afterward, he continually practiced Chinese Kung Fu, Tai Chi Chuan, and Chi Kung. Master Wei become known as a great fighter, and was very well respected in his area. He later authored a comprehensive Kung Fu book in Chinese. During the Japanese occupation in China, Master Wei was forced to share his skills with the military. During this time, he was also exposed to Japanese style if Judo and Kendo. As an international exchange, Master Wei had even studied some western boxing, and was once introduced to Joe Louis.
